It is with immense humility and a deep sense of responsibility that I assume office as the President of the Peenya Industries Association (PIA) for 2026–27. Sincere thanks to our Office Bearers, Past Presidents, Managing Council Members, and every Member of PIA for reposing their confidence and trust in me. I consider this opportunity not merely an honour, but a solemn responsibility to serve an institution that has, for decades, been the collective voice of one of India's largest and most vibrant industrial estates.

I also place on record my heartfelt appreciation for the exemplary leadership provided by my predecessors, whose vision and dedication have strengthened PIA into a respected and influential industry body. Building upon this strong foundation, our team remains committed to working with renewed energy, transparency, and inclusiveness to address the aspirations of our Members.

Our foremost priority will continue to be safeguarding the interests of MSMEs by pursuing constructive policy advocacy, improving industrial infrastructure, facilitating regulatory ease, promoting technology adoption, and creating greater opportunities for business growth. We shall further strengthen our engagement with Government departments, financial institutions, and industry stakeholders to ensure that the concerns of Peenya's entrepreneurs receive timely attention.

The Year Ahead: Challenges & Transitions

The year ahead promises to be both challenging and transformational for India's manufacturing sector. The ongoing implementation of the new Labour Codes marks one of the most significant reforms in industrial employment in recent decades. While the objective of simplifying labour laws and strengthening employee welfare is commendable, it is equally important that the transition remains practical for MSMEs operating with limited managerial and financial resources.

Industries in Peenya are already adapting to higher wage obligations, increasing compliance requirements, rising input costs, and intense global competition. A phased, technology-enabled, and MSME-friendly implementation framework will therefore be essential to ensure that regulatory reforms enhance, rather than constrain, industrial competitiveness.

At the same time, the Union Government's decision to strengthen SIDBI through a substantial capital infusion, coupled with the rollout of ECLGS 5.0, offers timely financial relief to thousands of MSMEs facing liquidity pressures. Easier access to affordable credit and working capital can significantly improve production continuity, employment generation, and export competitiveness. However, the benefits must reach deserving enterprises through transparent, accessible, and efficient implementation mechanisms.

Equally exciting is India's accelerating focus on electronics, semiconductor manufacturing, and supply-chain localisation. Peenya's engineering ecosystem already possesses strong capabilities in precision machining, tooling, fabrication, and industrial automation. With appropriate investments in technology, quality certification, skill development, and industry-academia collaboration, our MSMEs are well positioned to become valued partners in the country's next generation of advanced manufacturing.

From the Honorary Secretary

It is with profound gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility that I assume office as the Honorary Secretary of the Peenya Industries Association (PIA) for 2026–27. Sincere thanks to our Office Bearers, Past Presidents, Managing Council Members, and every Member of PIA for reposing their faith and confidence in me. Your trust is both a privilege and a responsibility, and I assure you of my wholehearted commitment to serving the Association with dedication, transparency, and responsiveness.

PIA has earned its reputation through decades of selfless leadership and collective effort. It is indeed an honour to be part of this distinguished institution that has consistently stood as the voice of the MSME sector and worked tirelessly for the welfare of industries in Peenya.

During the coming year, we shall focus on strengthening member services, enhancing communication, promoting knowledge-sharing initiatives, and facilitating constructive engagement with Government departments, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders. We will continue to pursue issues relating to infrastructure, statutory compliance, technology adoption, skill development, and ease of doing business with renewed vigour.

Industry in Transition

The industrial landscape is undergoing rapid transformation, making this an important period for MSMEs. Across Karnataka, industry bodies are increasingly advocating reforms that go beyond short-term relief and focus on long-term competitiveness through technology upgradation, digital transformation, infrastructure modernisation, affordable finance, and export promotion. For an industrial powerhouse like Peenya, these priorities are particularly relevant, as the future will increasingly belong to enterprises that embrace innovation, automation, and globally benchmarked manufacturing practices.

Simultaneously, industries are adapting to a new compliance environment shaped by evolving labour regulations, structured payroll systems, and technology-driven statutory processes. While these changes will strengthen transparency and formalisation over time, their successful implementation will require practical support, simplified procedures, and greater awareness, particularly for MSMEs operating with lean organisational structures.

Another significant development is the evolving power tariff framework, which encourages industries to adopt smarter energy-management practices through efficient load planning, modern equipment, and energy optimisation. Reliable power, operational efficiency, and sustainable manufacturing are becoming increasingly interconnected. At PIA, we shall continue to represent the concerns of our Members while encouraging them to leverage these emerging opportunities.
